FAQ - Sidequest | Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design

Sidequest is a creative journey that bridges learning, explores culture, and builds community through adventures spanning five quests.

Each quest has its own path with five challenges designed to help explorers expand their skills and confidence.

Quests are flexible, and you can move between quests as needed to move forward in your Sidequest journey.

Once you have logged in to the RMCAD Connect app, navigate to My Checklists . There, you will see the RMCAD Sidequest checklist, which includes five separate categories of events and tasks.

To move forward in each quest, you must follow each task's request. If the task requires you to submit a reflection or attend a specific tagged event, you must complete the task as requested before being able to move forward in your journey. You are able to complete tasks at your rate, jump around and attend events in different quest categories.

What if there are no available events to be able to move forward in a quest?

If there are currently no available events tagged for a specific quest, you can work through any of the other four checklists to continue your Sidequest.

The quests are set up to be flexible and allow you to work through each quest simultaneously, at your own pace.

I've attended an event, but the task is still locked. What should I do?

First, check to make sure you've been registered and checked into the event.

Second, review the event to make sure that the tag associated with the event is the appropriate tag requested within your quest task. Next, review if you've attended the requested number of events within each quest category.

If you have attended less than the required number of events within the tagged category, you will not be able to move forward in your quest.

What if I've attended the right number of events, but I'm still unable to move forward with my quest?

First, check to make sure the events you've attended have the correct associated tag for the checklist. Next, review if the specific task has two parts and if both parts have been successfully completed. If so, and you are still unable to move forward, email technical support: studentactivities@rmcad.edu .

What if I forget to take a screenshot or picture for my reflection?

If you forget to take a screenshot or picture for a reflection, please submit another form of proof of purchase or participation.

How do I track my progress amongst my peers?

You can track your progress by reviewing the Sidequest Leaderboard located on the RMCAD Connect Sidequest group page. Here, you will find announcements, program information, and more!

What happens when I've completed a quest?

Each quest has its own category reward. Sidequest progress is reviewed by the Sidequest Committee and rewards are shipped out every semester. Students who complete quests will receive an email notification regarding reward and shipping times.

What happens if I complete all of my quests within Sidequest?

Students will receive a grand prize, leaderboard recognition and graduation tassel.

At the end of the semester, all points will be tallied up and rewards per student will be identified. Make sure to keep an eye on your email to receive updates about rewards and how to obtain them.
