The Advising Department provides students with accurate and timely information and facilitates a collaborative environment through inter-departmental communication to assist students in reaching their educational goals. We also focus on collaborating with students to help them understand their overall degree plan, the requirements of their major, course sequencing, and prerequisites. partners with students to empower and develop their creative, personal, and educational growth.

Our vision is to excel in student-centric services by enhancing diversity, encouraging collaboration, promoting independence, and advocating for self-accountability.

Advisors also offer advice in selecting courses to satisfy degree requirements, clarify policies and regulations, help direct students to resources, and facilitate students’ reentry into RMCAD.

Embedded tutors in foundation-level classes.

The Learning Commons oversees its contribution to Student Affairs Co-Curricular assessment for the department.

Build – Play – Relax is the League of Xtr’ord’nary Heroes’ purpose. As a co-curricular club, we engage in fantasycraft & wargames that include: archery, safe, simulated combat scenarios, handwork projects, musical revelry and tavern-like social time. Our meetings take place in an inviting space and may include a strolling bard, or two. An end-of-term feast and skills-based tournament occurs outside, with more fanfare. Bigger fabrication projects take place at Neusteter Woodshop, where our simulated prop and safety-conscious weapons construction reference both historical and fictitious sources. Our games are intended to develop confidence and self-wellness through increased activity, teamwork, and imagination. Many of our students need an outlet to alleviate burnout, sedentary habits, and excessive screen time. By offering a place to lightheartedly disengage, RMCAD students should find the L.X. Heroes Club as a positive way to improve their school life and campus culture.
